I really enjoyed this book as it depicts what gay people go through, not feeling accepted by society. It doesn't matter if your gay, straight, a geek, an addict or transgender, people need to be loved and given there choice of freedom and to not live in a shell because they are who they are. I have had many gay friends whom i love and cherish.....PLEASE READ and realize what people go through and not to judge. Another great book by Matthew Grant....Thank you.Product details

Enjoyed this book - had trouble putting it down - it is a fast and easy read - the relationships between the main character and his boyfriend, girlfriend, and teacher are terrific - lots of good suspense near the end - had trouble putting it down. I infested myself into the characters and found myself wanting the best for them. Really enjoyed - no graphic sex - some violence - but appropriate for the story - do yourself a favor and read it!
Matthew W. Grant has captured Zach's struggle eloquently with the use of emotion as a backdrop for the drama that is real life. This is a timely piece given the sudden spotlight on the difficulties LGBTQ teens face as they reveal their true selves to friends and family often resulting in rejection. Zach's Secret should top every high school's required reading list for the students, teachers, and parents. This cover-to-cover-don't-interrupt-me read left me searching for another book by this gifted author.
A great coming of age story for gay teens. No heavy sexual stuff, just a good story of desire, longing and loving! A great read!
audiobook/story review.
the vocal performance was ok...he had a few different voices but at times he bothered me. it seemed he was going just a little too slow and he seemed a little bored at times.
the story was fantastic. i loved that Key was so self-confident and well adjusted. he was a great influence for Zach. Zach frustrated me at times by not standing up for who he was or what he believed in...he eventually got there and he was surrounded by homophobic bigots which scared him. this is a pretty powerful coming of age and coming out proud story.
one word PROM. i was bawling on an airplane listening to that part of the book.
definitely a must read or must listen book!
I couldn't read this to the end. Scenes end abruptly, there are gaps in narration, and the characters are flat. This is like the outline of a novel, but the outline isn't even a good one. I think this started as a screenplay, which could explain some of the issues, but at least a screenplay would have given some cues to help you understand why characters were acting the way they were. The only semi-interesting character is Key, but he cannot make up for the cast of uninspiring, undeveloped stereotypes around him.
